Puppies

So, we haven't really talked about the new animals on our African farm. On the day of my two year old birthday party, a dog that lived outside our gate around the neighborhood got hurt.
There are tons of wild packs of dogs in Africa that roam around. This particular dog is very sweet and Mommy fell in love with her right when she moved in. But, MOMMY knew better than to take her into the compound. She figured two African dogs and two African kids were quite enough. So, she would always just take food outside the gate to this dog. But on this particular day, the dog had been in a fight and was hurt and needed stiches. Also, this dog clearly had puppies somewhere that she was nursing. So, the grown ups rushed the dog to the vets office while others went off to find the puppies in the neighborhood so they didn't starve to death waiting for their Mom to come back.

Of course, once all that happened, and the dogs were now in the compound, Mommy felt responsible for them. Since that day she has not stopped repeating to Bada and Uncle Gogo, over and over again, "This is why you don't bring the dogs INSIDE the gate".

Well, cut to a few months and a few thousand dollars later....and we have Twiga our inside puppy who came here with Mommy, Tausi our dog that lives in Uncle Gogo's room and spends her days wandering around outside and torturing Twiga through the window (of course they hate each other), and 2 puppies, who have no name. Mommy always says that if you aren't going to keep an animal you shouldn't name it because then you get attached. So, we just have boy puppy and girl puppy. Boy puppy is mostly black, and quite the trouble maker - girl puppy is mostly blond and very little.

I LOVE them. I think that they may give my Mommy a great amount of stress but I think that they are SO cool! Mommy says we can't keep the puppies though....but we can bring them home to the US and find them a nice healthy happy home to live at. So, if anyone is interested in adopting a wonderful little puppy who has all their shots and is fixed up and potty trained into their home, these suckers will be available just as soon as we can all get on a plane and get home!
